Creatine monohydrate increases muscle mass, strength, and
power in many athletes. At first scientist’s thought that it worked by increasing high-energy fuels in the muscle, which helps athletes, train harder.
More recent studies found that creatine supplements increase muscle satellite
cells, which increase muscle size and improve the capacity for protein
synthesis. A South African study using college rugby players showed that creatine
monohydrate supplements increased testosterone (DHT), which is the most
biological form of test. DHT increased 56% after a seven-day creatine-loading
phase (20grams a day).
