Some News from BlitzFitness in the community.zzz

volunteering at the 2009 New Balance Fall Classic ½ Marathon, 10K and 5K race on Sunday, November
15.
We needed more than 120 volunteers to make this a fabulous experience for an estimated 2,472
runners registered for this event. Joshua and Katie braved the rain and cold to arrive mega early to help
with Start Line set up and were flexible and accommodating to jump in to whatever task we needed.
Much appreciated!
Community races like the New Balance Fall Classic are not possible without the help of these volunteers
who help register racers, provide food and water, hand out souvenir garments, and help marshal the
course, to name only a few of the many, very important roles volunteers provide. The organizers of the
New Balance Fall Classic are grateful for the generosity of time and effort of these volunteers in helping
make races like this happen.
Some comments racers had for our volunteers:
“The volunteers were great - just absolutely stellar to be out there in the cold for so long: big
thank you to them.”
“The volunteers were super fantastic! I had a great time. The food was awesome, especially the
chili!”
“Yes, I would like to thank many times over all the volunteers who were out today on such a
miserable day! What troopers and I hope that everyone appreciates the volunteers who make
this race happen. THANKS”
Sincerely,
Alison Liebel
